21 Killed As Suspected Cattle Thieves Attack Village In Plateau

A clash between cattle thieves and residents of Kukek village in Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau state, has resulted in the deaths of 21 persons.







The suspected cattle thieves were said to have invaded the village early on Thursday morning and killed 9 members of Mr Tsok Gwom’s family with the aim of stealing their livestock.
Mr. Gwom, three women and five children were killed in the attack.
The attack reportedly led to an uprising among the villagers and the vigilante group which killed 12 of the about 30 attackers in a reprisal attack, others fled.
The Police is yet to confirm this incident.
However, the State Commissioner for Information, Yiljap Abraham, told channels television that security operatives have been deployed to the village to restore normalcy.
