Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has distanced the club from rumours suggesting a possible reunion between four-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi and Pep Guardiola at the Allianz Arena.
“I know they would never sell Messi. He is a saint at Barcelona,” Rummenigge said.
“I think it would be in Messi’s best interest to stay at Barcelona. He fits in perfectly there.”

Meanwhile the Bayern chief is intent in ensuring that a ‘mole’ who leaked team tactics to the press before Saturday’s 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund will be exposed.
“We will obviously not bring in the NSA (National Security Agency) to find out who it is,” Rummenigge told Sky television.
“But I advise him to stop doing it or he will have serious problem not only with Pep Guardiola but also the entire club.”
Manager Guardiola is hell-bent on ensuring the perpetrator is run out of the club if his identity is discovered.
